The top-4 race in the PBA Season 48 Commissioner’s Cup remains crowded.

San Miguel made its case for a top-4 finishing Sunday, running away from Terrafirma for a 132-110 win at the Big Dome.

The Beermen improved to 7-3 for solo fourth, getting an inside track at a playoff bonus. The top-4 teams gain a twice-to-beat edge in the quarterfinals.

Playing just his second game for the Beermen, Bennie Boatwright joined the 50-ball club in PBA Season 48, going for 51 points on an impressive 61 percent shooting. He also had 12 rebounds, three assists, and two blocks as San Miguel extended its winning run to four straight.

“I was just trying to stay in the zone,” Boatwright said of his explosive performance. “Credit to my coaches and teammates, they were looking for me today.”

Don Trollano added 22 points in a starting role for SMB, while former top picks Mo Tautuaa and CJ Perez chipped in 16 each.

Terrafirma got 26 points from Javi Gomez de Liaño, and 17 points apiece from import Thomas De Thaey and Juami Tiongson. The Dyip dropped 2-8, losing seven straight.
