Game 3 is set on Sunday at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
Brgy. Ginebra San Miguel import Tony Bishop remains upbeat even when facing the specter of elimination in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup semifinals.
After Ginebra fell to a 0-2 hole in the best-of-five series against the San Miguel Beermen, Bishop said there’s no other recourse but to swing hard when backs are against the wall.
“Oh yeah, until it’s over with. Until the fat lady sings, like we say. We’re going to keep going hard. They’re up two. We have to win (the) next game and take it one game at a time,” he said when asked if the Gin Kings like their chances going into Game 3 on Sunday.
“We have to make sure that we come out strong, come out hard, and win the game. We’re there every game. We’re not getting blown out. We’re right there. It is just a couple of mistakes that we got to tweak, we got to fix, so we can win next game.”
While they have been able to keep in pace with their foes, Bishop said the Beermen simply have a bevy of weapons in their arsenal.
That’s something they have to figure out when they meet again in Game 3 on Sunday at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
“They have everything. They have shooters outside, they got big presence inside. They got June Mar (Fajardo). They got guys who can give you 20 any given night, three or four threes in a row every night,” said Bishop, who finished with 25 points and nine rebounds in Game 2.
“We just have to fix some stuff on our defense. On offense, we got to make sure that we’re continuing to score the ball, continue to find guys open at their spots.”
Game 3 will air on Sunday, 6:30 p.m., on CNN Philippines, A2Z, PBA Rush, and the Pilipinas Live app.
