There was no hint of animosity between San Miguel's Bennie Boatwright and Magnolia's Tyler Bey when the two reinforcements graced the press conference on Thursday for the upcoming PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals.

The prolific imports will square off in the best-of-seven clash for the crown beginning Friday, but before hostilities begin, they dapped up then flashed a big smile before photographers at the Richmonde Hotel in Eastwood City.

The air will not be as amicable when they renew their rivalry at the Mall of Asia Arena tomorrow.

It has been a while since the last time the American reinforcements met on the parquet floor. Boatwright played for the University of Southern California Trojans while Bey suited up for the University of Colorado Buffaloes in the US NCAA Division 1 some years ago.

That is why Boatwright could not wait to hop back on the court and test his mettle against Bey anew under the bright lights of a PBA finale this time around.

“I’m very excited. We played in college a couple of times,” said Boatwright. “[I'm] definitely excited for the matchup [because] we bring the best out of each other.”

Bey shared the same sentiment.

“It is going to be a great competition, great matchup. Looking forward to just really playing the whole finals against him,” said Bey.

“Like I said, I just cherish every moment here. And hope we get the dub each game, take it game by game.”

Game time is at 7:30 p.m. Fans may also enjoy the action on RPTV, A2Z, PBA Rush, and the Pilipinas Live app.
