Baser Amer inks deal with NLEX.
Baser Amer is all set to suit up for the NLEX Road Warriors in the PBA Season 48 Philippine Cup.
The Road Warriors announced the official acquisition of the 31-year-old guard on
Tuesday, February 13.
"Baser is expected to provide a big boost in facilitating plays on the hardcourt and additional firepower in scoring," NLEX said in the announcement.
After becoming an unrestricted free agent when Blackwater released him upon the expiration of his old contract in December, Amer has found a new home in NLEX.
The former San Beda standout is a welcome addition to the Road Warriors, who have been struggling with injuries in their backcourt rotation.
Amer will serve as a stabilizing presence that could fill up the void caused by the absences of Kevin Alas, Matt Nieto, and Rob Herndon due to health concerns.
The move also reunited Amer and seasoned tactician Frankie Lim as the two helped the Red Lions capture an NCAA title in 2011.
