Robert Bolick was a man on a mission on Saturday as he steered the NLEX Road Warriors to their third win against the Converge FiberXers.
Robert Bolick was simply on a league of his own.
Bolick proved just that as he fired a career-high 46 points to steer NLEX to a 115-93 win over a beleaguered Converge squad in the PBA Season 48 Philippine Cup on Saturday, March 9.
The spitfire guard made five triples, the last of which came when the win was already in the bag and with the time winding down. He laced this fiery performance with eight assists and five rebounds.
What made this performance even more impressive was he only turned the ball over once in nearly 35 minutes of play.
“I’m just happy for my players especially this guy,” said NLEX coach Frankie Lim, referring to Bolick.
The Road Warriors star need not be at his best in the fourth period.
While the prolific scorer rested for the first six minutes of the final canto, Robbie Herndon picked up where he left off.
Herndon reeled off three triples in a 9-2 tear by the Road Warriors that put them unassailably ahead, 97-77, with 6:56 to go.
Then Bolick checked back in a few moments later to help NLEX put the finishing touches.
He dropped 10 points from there, including the layup that went high off the glass before Herndon unloaded another trey that put the game further out of reach, 107-89, with 1:02 remaining.
Herndon finished with 17 points, while Jhan Nermal and Baser Amer added 13 and 10 points, respectively, for the Road Warriors.
Justin Arana topscored with 20, Bryan Santos produced 18, including two triples in the final minutes, Alec Stockton had 13 while Schonny Winston chipped in 10 for the FiberXers who stayed winless in four games.
