NLEX hung tough at endgame to score a 93-90 win over TNT in Game 2 to draw level in their PBA Season 49 Governors’ Cup quarterfinal showdown on Friday, Sept. 27.

DeQuan Jones and Robert Bolick combined in the final minutes to help the Road Warriors pull off the thrilling win at the Sta. Rosa Multi-Purpose Complex.

Bolick converted an and-one play in the 2:10 mark of the fourth period to shatter an 87-all count and give NLEX the upperhand.

Jones later hiked the slim advantage to five, 92-87, on two free throws.

Unfortunately for the Tropang Giga, they went only 4-for-8 from the foul line to drop the game.

DeQuan Jones finished with 38 points on 12-of-26 shooting from the field he spiked with 12 rebounds. Robert Bolick added 16 points.

NLEX essentially made it a best-of-three series after recovering from a 102-107 loss in the opener.

“It was hard for both teams. They really had to grind for every point and every possession,” said Road Warriors head coch Jong Uichico.

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson hauled down 22 points and 22 rebounds in a losing cause. He also had five assists, four steals and two blocks.

Game 3 is set on Sunday, Sept. 29, at the Ynares Sports Center in Antipolo.
