This marks the second game in the PBA Season 49 Governors' Cup semifinals that the TNT Tropang Giga outscored the Rain or Shine Elasto painters in the second half while also limiting their opponent's score to under 100.
It's just another day in the office for TNT Coach Chot Reyes.
The Tropang Giga made another second half surge in game 2 of the PBA Governors' Cup semifinals to take the 2-0 lead against the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters.
For Coach Reyes, there was nothing special in what they do that led to their second half performances.
"We just make it a point to start the second half of each game that we play with renewed determination on defense. I think if we're able to make stops, it really fuels our offense," Reyes explained.
The locals led by Calvin Oftana and Rey Nambatac sparked the offense of TNT in the second half, making up 24 combined points of the 38-21 scoring in the third quarter.
According to Coach Reyes, they made the adjustments that fueled the locals in leading the charge in the second half.
"We saw in the first half what they were trying to do so we made the adjustments in halftime and I thought we made successive stops that fueled our breakaway," he said.
