Stephen Holt is getting along just fine with the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, averaging 18.3 points in the first three games of the PBA Season 49 Governors' Cup semifinals against the San Miguel Beermen.
Stephen Holt has quickly adjusted to his new role at Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, just in time as the stakes get higher in the PBA Season 49 Governors' Cup.
“I think I’m settling into my role pretty nicely here in Ginebra,” Holt shared after being named the PBA Press Corps-Pilipinas Live Player of the Week for October 9 to 13.
Holt was instrumental in helping Ginebra take a 2-1 series lead over the San Miguel Beermen in their semifinal showdown in that period.
The 32-year-old guard edged out teammate Japeth Aguilar and TNT's Rey Nambatac for the weekly honor, averaging 18.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 5.0 assists over three games.
Holt shone in Game 1, where he posted 30 points, eight rebounds, and four assists in Ginebra’s 122-105 win.
He followed up with solid contributions in Games 2 and 3, including 11 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists in a pivotal 99-94 victory.
With San Miguel Beermen getting the equalizer in Game 4, the semifinal series will get tighter on Friday, October 18, at the Ynares Center Antipolo at 5 p.m.
