June Mar Fajardo continues to live up to expectations as he is hands down the top player of the PBA Season 49 Governors’ Cup.
June Mar Fajardo continued making history on Sunday night, Nov. 3.
The San Miguel superstar extended his record for most number of Best Player of the Conference award after being hailed as such for the 11th time in a brief ceremony ushering in Game 4 of the PBA Season 49 Governors’ Cup Finals between Ginebra and TNT.
Winner of eight Most Valuable Player trophies — also a record, the 34-year-old behemoth has remained a bane for the rest of the pack, averaging a league-best 16.3 rebounds on top of 21.0 points, 3.1 assists and 1.0 blocks.

But San Miguel fell short against eventual finalist Ginebra in the semifinals, 4-2, though.
Fajardo bested teammate Cjay Perez, Gin Kings stars Japeth Aguilar, Scottie Thompson, as well as Arvin Tolentino of NorthPort and NLEX's Robert Bolick for the top individual plum.
Fajardo collected a total of 980 points (465 from statistics, 476 from media votes and 48 from player votes), while Aguilar and Thompson garnered 664 and 465, respectively.
"Hindi ko nga in-expect 'to, eh. Nasa Cebu lang ako. Masaya akong nakuha 'yung award na 'to. Blessing ito. Thankful ako sa lahat, sa inyo, sa mga teammates ko, sa mga coaches ko, sa mga kapuwa ko players. Salamat sa kanila, nakuha ko 'yung award," said Fajardo.
