For Japeth Aguilar, there’s no better player who deserved to win the Best Player of the Conference award than June Mar Fajardo.

This after the San Miguel star bested Aguilar for the top individual plum — an award Fajardo won a record-extending 11 times on Sunday, Nov. 3.

There’s no bad feelings whatsoever for Aguilar.

“Deserving ka, brother June Mar. That’s why you’re the GOAT,” Aguilar told One Sports after Ginebra tied the PBA Season 49 Governors’ Cup Finals series against TNT at 2-all.

“You deserve it. You work hard for it. Dinala mo yung team mo this conference.”

Fajardo would have preferred to see the Beermen hoist a championship trophy at the end of this conference.

But the eight-time PBA MVP is letting his close friend Aguilar have it this time.

“Sakin na lang muna yung BPC, sa kanya na lang muna yung championship,” the 6-foot-10 behemoth said with a smile.

It won’t be easy for Aguilar and the Gin Kings.

Though the Ginebra appeared to have shifted the momentum to their favor after taking the last two games, Aguilar said it’s only going to be tougher for the Gin Kings.

“Kailangan namin paghirapan. It’s not given. So kailangan namin talaga paghirapan. I wish mapunta samin (championship) pero kailangan namin paghirapan,” Aguilar said.

Ginebra goes for the pivotal 3-2 lead when the two juggernaut teams collide in Game 5 on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
