Gary David is now a councilor in Dinalupihan, Bataan.
Former PBA star Gary David got embroiled in a heated incident in a local league in Orion, Bataan.
A video went viral on social media showing the retired baller pushing a player during a game between the squad he coaches, Team Dinalupihan, and their foe Team Limay.
Tensions flared after a player from Team Limay shoved David’s ward, prompting the now Dinalupuhan councilor to plead their case with the referees.
But while he did that, a player from Team Limay clapped his hands in front of the former Gilas Pilipinas stalwart.
David then approached and pushed the said player.
Fortunately, cooler heads successfully separated them.
But a fan wearing a cap and a blue jersey entered the playing court, pushed David and took a fighting stance.
The fan was escorted by a couple of police officers out of the playing venue.
In an interview with News5 reporter Ian Suyu, video uploader Jolly Fhe said the game was already physical before the incident.
“Before that daw may nakabanggit na sa'kin nagkaroon na ng anuhan doon, parang naano yata 'yung leeg noong nansiko,” said Jolly Fhe in an interview with News5 reporter Ian Suyu.
Suyu tried to ask David for comment but the latter refused to give any as of this writing.
Meanwhile, a certain Kidd Cruz, who claimed to be the Limay player who was seen shoving his foe in the video, took to Facebook to shed light on his participation in the incident.
Cruz later said David reached out and apologized and the matter between two parties are now resolved.
