Simon Enciso is back for another tour of duty for the renamed TNT Tropang 5G.

Enciso’s return to TNT was made official on Tuesday, April 8. The veteran guard signed with the Grand Slam-seeking team after his four-year stint with the San Miguel Beermen came to an end.

It was a logical move for the Tropang 5G, considering their backcourt rotation is heavily affected by the season-ending injury to veteran guard Jayson Castro.

A two-time champion and proven veteran, Enciso is expected to share the playmaking duties alongside Season 49 Commissioner’s Cup Finals MVP Rey Nambatac, Brian Heruela, and rookie Jielo Razon.

The 34-year-old first suited up for TNT five years ago after being traded from the then-Alaska Aces in exchange for Mike DiGregorio and a first-round pick.

He was a key part of the squad that finished runner-up behind eventual champions Barangay Ginebra San Miguel during the Philippine Cup in the Clark bubble.

Enciso then became a part of a three-team trade with Blackwater and NLEX that centered around TNT selecting former Finals MVP Mikey Williams as the no. 4 overall pick in the Season 46 Draft in 2021.

A rare Grand Slam feat is in TNT’s sights after conquering both the Governors' and Commissioner’s Cups.

Head coach Chot Reyes and his wards will make their Philippine Cup debut on Wednesday, April 23 at the SMART Araneta Coliseum against the NLEX Road Warriors.
