Terrafirma Dyip hope to halt their downward slide when they take on a fresh but dangerous Barangay Ginebra San Miguel squad in the PBA Season 49 Philippine Cup on Wednesday, April 23.

The match starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

After a rousing win over Phoenix to start the conference, the Dyip have struggled to maintain momentum, dropping back-to-back games — including a 97-75 blowout loss to NorthPort — to fall to 1-2 in the standings.

Now, the challenge only gets tougher.

Facing a Ginebra side making its conference debut, Terrafirma is bracing for war against a team hungry for redemption after falling to TNT in both the Commissioner’s Cup and Governors’ Cup Finals.

But for the Dyip, the opportunity to catch the Gin Kings early on while they shake off the rust could be a silver lining.

With guys like Terrence Romeo and Stanley Pringle at the forefront, Terrafirma is looking to pull off a statement win against one of the league’s giants.

A victory over Ginebra could not only snap the Dyip’s losing streak, but also inject much-needed confidence as they try to stay in the mix in the early goings of the all-Filipino tilt.
