Chill time for Ginebra coach Tim Cone

At last, a breather for Ginebra head coach Tim Cone. 

Cone on Thursday expressed his relief after advancing to the PBA Commissioner's Cup Finals, defeating rival Magnolia in the process. 

Finally have a chance to take a breath! I want to thank everyone for their birthday tweets, and of course, give a shout out to the fans for helping us get to the Finals!! Excited. Let's GOOOO!!

Yes, you read that right. Cone turned 65 last December 14, the same day the Gin Kings took on the Hotshots in the series that started as a swashbuckling contest, but looked all Ginebra from Game 3 onwards. 

It’s been a laborious couple of weeks for the winningest coach in the PBA that it looks like he didn’t have time to reply to the birthday messages. 

Or did he even celebrate his special day?

Nonetheless, fans of Team Never Say Die would certainly welcome any rest for their coach — even if that's just for today.

Soon, the Gin Kings will go back to the drawing board and prepare for the upcoming finale against the Bay Area Dragons. 

The Finals starts on Christmas Day at the Mall of Asia Arena.
