Sherwin Meneses urged the Creamline Cool Smashers to quickly move on from their PVL All-Filipino Finals loss and shift focus to their upcoming campaign in the 2025 AVC Women’s Champions League.
The Creamline Cool Smashers are wasting no time dwelling on heartbreak.
After falling short in their bid for another PVL All-Filipino Conference crown, head coach Sherwin Meneses is urging the team to shift focus toward their next challenge— the 2025 AVC Women’s Champions League—which kicks off later this month at the PhilSports Arena.
“About last night, nangyari na 'yun, kailangan maka-move on agad, especially may AVC tournament kami,” Meneses said the morning after Creamline’s four-set defeat to the Petro Gazz Angels in their winner-take-all Game 3.
The multi-time champion mentor acknowledged that Petro Gazz simply wanted the title more, crediting the Angels’ hunger and execution in the Finals.
“Siguro deserve talaga ng Petro Gazz 'yung championship kagabi. Mas gusto nilang manalo,” he admitted. “''Yung players, hindi naman sila umayaw — talagang 'yung breaks and 'yung game kagabi, talagang sa Petro Gazz talaga.”

Despite the loss, Meneses said the defeat wasn’t as crushing as some might expect.
“Hindi siya ganun ka-painful talaga 'yung nangyari kasi nakita ko naman na wala masyadong nag-hagulgol na iyak,” he shared. “So I think hindi masyadong masakit 'yung nangyari. Pero siyempre, competitive kasi 'yung players, so at end of the day, siguro nag-iisip din 'yan.”
Now back in their own homes, Meneses believes his wards will bounce back fast, especially with another opportunity to redeem themselves on the international stage.
“I think makaka-recover naman mabilis 'yung team. Bawi na lang siguro sa ibang conference and this AVC, talagang I think laging competitive naman 'yung Creamline.”
