It’s no secret San Miguel Beermen superstar June Mar Fajardo can dominate the paint at will. A 6-foot-10 hooper with a soft touch and incredible footwork, the six-time MVP makes bullying his way into the basket look too easy.

But don’t leave him open from long range as well, just like what Blackwater Bossing did at the start of the third quarter in their Wednesday matchup.

The Kraken will definitely make you pay.

The Beermen cruised to a 105-86 win over the Bossing for their second straight victory in the PBA Governors' Cup.

This was not the first time Fajardo launched a triple and made it. In this season’s Philippine Cup, he also uncorked a trey in the second period of a lopsided win against the Converge FiberXers.

As a slotman who makes a living in the post, shooting threes, like Halley’s Comet, is a rare occurrence for the Pinamungahan, Cebu native.

But with a new coach in Jorge Gallent, is this going to be part of Fajardo’s arsenal going forward?

It doesn’t look like it.

“As long as he’s 1 out of 1 he’s fine. It stays there,” said Gallent, drawing laughter from the members of the press.

Besides, Fajardo doesn’t really need this to up his production as he is averaging 18.0 points and 14.5 rebounds in the first two games in the season-ending conference.
