Even when she’s riding the bench, Risa Sato can effect the game in more ways than one.
From time to time, the Creamline Cool Smashers gem can be seen dancing on the sideline or inside the dugout. She hypes up her teammates or the crowd. She flashes her infectious smile in front of the camera.
And volleyball fans love this about her.
What’s the secret for her sunny disposition and boundless energy? It’s quite simple, really.
“Siguro before game kumakain ako mga sweets or cookies. Siguro 'yun secret ko,” she said with a big smile when asked how she’s been able to keep up the energy.
But make no mistake about it. While she's always all smiles, dancing to whatever music is playing inside the arena during timeouts, Sato is as fierce as a warrior whenever she's on the court.
Just ask the Petro Gazz Angels.
But now that the jig is up, it won't be surprising to see her receive sweets and cookies from her fans from now on.
