In the last weekend before PVL action resumes, not a few volleyball stars maximized their time to get ready for the PVL Invitational Conference.
Nope, it’s not about putting in the reps in the gym—they have already been doing that a lot. It’s actually about getting fresh looks. Three PVL stars in Rachel Anne Daquis, Michele Gumabao, and Dawn Macandili all did just that over the weekend.
Daquis’ joy couldn’t seem to be contained after she visited the salon last Saturday.
“Saturday >> rest day >> me day,” Daquis, who went for a new cut and hair color, wrote on her Instagram post.
From having a golden, long hair, the former FEU Tamaraw and now Cignal HD Spiker has opted for a shorter cut with a dark, rich color.
Meanwhile, Creamline Cool Smashers stalwart Michele Gumabao, who dyed her hair purple a few days ago, went for a last hurrah on Monday to get her nails and eyelashes done to complete her new look.
“Mag-ready lang ako ah, may game na bukas eh,” the former De La Salle Lady Spiker captioned her Instagram post.
Another La Salle alum in Dawn Macandili also went for shorter hair and new colors.
“It’s a good hair day,” said Macandili via Instagram on Sunday.
She got her hair done just in time for their game on opening day.
Macandili and the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers will open the PVL Invitational tomorrow, Tuesday, against the Farm Fresh Foxies at 1:30 p.m. It will be played at the Filoil EcoOil Arena in San Juan.
Daquis and Cignal will play Tuesday’s second game against the Petro Gazz Angels at 4 p.m. in the same venue.
Gumabao and Creamline will face the rookie-clad Chery Tiggo Crossovers in the opening day’s last match at 6:30 p.m.
