These Angels know how to vibe.
Back in April, MJ Phillips of the Petro Gazz Angels was drafted fifth overall by the Gwangju AI Peppers, joining Marck Espejo as the first Filipino athletes drafted in the Korean V-League.
Now, the two-time PVL Best Middle Blocker has officially left the country—despite teammate Djanel’s Cheng jokingly making a last-gasp appeal on live TV for Phillips not to leave.
As Phillips embarks on a new chapter in her already impressive athletic career, it looks like she is already in game shape, as she has continued working out with her fellow Angels in the past couple of months. In fact, it appears she got one final workout just before flying to Korea on Friday.
She even shared on her TikTok what that “last day of work” looked like—at least the final few seconds of it. And it was good vibes all around. It was even hilarious.
If anything, the song choice—“Gotta Go My Own Way” from High School Musical 2—is nothing short of perfect because Phillips is indeed going her own way. Plus, Angels Palma, Cheng, and Marian Buitre make a special guest appearance and showed off some acting chops.
But the video saved the best for last: none other than Petro Gazz coach Oliver Almadro, who gamely ended Phillips’ TikTok with some all-out acting of his own.
