The PVL Invitational Conference saw its wildest game so far in a pulsating five-set match against the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers and Choco Mucho Flying Titans.
That game had fans on a roller coaster of emotions, including volleybelles Dzi Gervacio and Carmela Tunay, who were calling the game for Pilipinas LIVE's Fan Stream.
Gervacio and Tunay's shouts and reactions perfectly defined the drama that was the game.
With Choco Mucho up 15-14, Jolina Dela Cruz seemingly hit the ball out of bounds. But the F2 Logistics challenged the call.
"Jolina was already out of the system pero parang palobo 'yung palo niya pero she has tall blockers, I don't know. We'll see," Gervacio said when the Cargo Movers challenged a block touch what would have been the match point for the Flying Titans.
"Ay meron!" Both of the commentators said in unison while watching the replay. Tunay followed quickly with, "Oh my God, what a game!"
What a game indeed.
This match is a good example why the challenge system is a critical part of the league. Coach Regine Diego even complimented the teamwork it required to pull off the correct calls. It also adds to the suspense to an already intense game.
