Not a bad way to spend the day after being on the losing end of a five-set thriller.
Only one point away from extending the fifth set, the Creamline Cool Smashers’ hopes to defend the PVL Invitational Conference title remained alive until the final moments of the winner-take-all finals against the Kurashiki Ablaze.
It all ended abruptly, though, as no less than Ablaze star Tamaru Asaka nailed a service ace to clinch the 19-25, 25-23, 25-19, 20-25, 15-13 win. It was deflating if you’re Creamline as you get so close to completing your goal. However, as evidenced by Cool Smashers coach Sherwin Meneses’ stoic face and clapping hands as the game was decided, it was a loss to a worthy foe in Kurashiki—who finished the conference unblemished, grabbing six wins in as many games.
For the Creamline volleybelles, it appears they need something more than just acceptance to cope with the painful loss.
Michele Gumabao, Jema Galanza, Ella de Jesus, Kyle Negrito, and Tots Carlos found one thing to help them go through the day: visiting the salon.
On Monday, Gumabao posted on Instagram how the five of them chose to glam up one day after losing the PVL Invitational title.
“How to cope. Sabay sabay na lang tayo magpaganda, friends,” the former De La Salle Lady Spiker wrote on her Instagram story, tagging her teammates.
From how it looks, it seems they are getting their eyelashes and nails done.
Of course, Gumabao had to have a selfie after the pampering session.
Creamline has always thrived with its camaraderie and chemistry among the team, and it only shows that even losses that are tough to swallow can only strengthen their bond.
