The Choco Mucho Flying Titans have brought home the bronze medal after defeating Japan’s Kansai University in four sets, 25-20, 23-25, 25-13, 25-18, in the VTV Cup 2023.

After Kansai University tied the match at one set apiece, the Flying Titans simply took over the match to snatch the team’s first podium finish since its PVL debut in 2019.

Sisi Rondina once again led Choco Mucho’s barrage, while other players in the team also contributed heavily to the victory.

After the match, Rondina and star setter Deanna Wong immediately expressed their joy over winning the bronze medal.

Aside from the players, it’s also safe to say that Choco Mucho fans were also overjoyed with the team’s victory.

On social media, fans immediately congratulated the Flying Titans on their hard-earned podium finish.

“So proud of the Choco Mucho girls for representing the Philippines and making it to the podium in their first international competition. Congratulations, Choco Mucho Philippines,” wrote @Beadelforlyf.

Another Choco Mucho fan, meanwhile, gave praises to coach Dante Alinsunurin, who added yet another medal to his already stacked coaching resume.

“To this man, thank you for choosing our girls. This win is for you and the entire Choco Mucho staff. Thank you, Coach Dante,” @cmftstan wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Of course, fans also had to respond to those who criticized the team before and during the tournament.

User @dbtbkd had a simple message for all the Choco Mucho doubters: “Never ever underestimate them.”

Others are naturally looking forward to what the Flying Titans can achieve come the upcoming PVL conference.

“Congrats Choco Mucho! So excited for this team next PVL conference. [Sobra] ang effect ni coach Dante,” wrote @xoxodaehoney.

Indeed, Choco Mucho fans will be hoping that the team can replicate its success in the Vietnam tilt in the PVL.
