Creamline is defending its crown in the All-Filipino conference.
There’s no doubt in Sherwin Meneses’ mind Kyle Negrito is ready to take on the main setter role in the upcoming PVL All-Filipino Conference.
With the departure of Jia de Guzman, Negrito is now tasked to orchestrate the offense for the multi-titled Creamline Cool Smashers.
In an interview with One Sports, Meneses said he is confident Negrito will step up in de Guzman’s absence.
“Knowing Kyle, veteran setter naman siya. Skills at talent laging nandyan. Sobrang competitive din,” Meneses said. “I think wala namang problema. Siya magiging main setter namin this conference.”
Save for de Guzman, Creamlines remains the team-to-beat with the likes of Alyssa Valdez, Tots Carlos, and Jema Galanza leading the charge.
Then there’s the perfectly healthy Bernadeth Pons.
“Si Pons is 100% na this conference. Hopefully playing time mas madami sa kaniya. ‘Yun naman number one sa ’min, maging 100% healthy siya this conference,” he said of his prized spiker.
Indeed, the Cool Smashers remain the favorites to win it all in the PVL All-Filipino Conference, which unfurls on October 15. And their mettle will be put to the test early as they are set to take on Choco Mucho Flying Titans in their opener.
