Is this the championship conference for the PLDT High Speed Hitters?

Outside hitter Royse Tubino is hopeful that it would be, now that the squad in orange has plenty of firepower for the PVL Second All-Filipino Conference.

PLDT has retained the services of Tubino for the second straight tournament after being released by the Army Lady Troopers.

The High Speed Hitters also announced the entry of 5-foot-9 Savannah Davison, a Filipina-Canadian outside hitter from the US NCAA Division I. She played for both the University of Oklahoma and New Mexico State University. She is expected to fill the role of Jovy Prado, who is recuperating from an ACL injury.

"Mas solid 'yung team kasi may (Fil-Canadian) kami. We're expecting na magpe-perform talaga siya," Tubino told One Sports. "All-out din talaga siya, sobrang sipag."

Of course, the squad was quick to fill her in regarding coach Rald Ricafort's system, as shown with the photos of the team's tune-up game against the FEU Lady Tamaraws.

PLDT also signed up Lut Malaluan, Tubino's teammate from Army, who played last conference with the Akari Chargers.

In the First All-Filipino Conference, PLDT reached its best finish at fourth place. Now, the squad is hoping for a better one. The players seem to be having more fun too.

"Sobrang enjoyable lang talaga," Tubino shared. "'Yung bonding araw-araw, nagsasama kami. Real quick adjustment."

PLDT will take on sister squad Cignal HD Spikers this Sunday.

It will be aired live at 5 p.m. on One Sports, One Sports+, and the Pilipinas Live app.
