The Nxled Chameleons have definitely impressed fans after their first game in the PVL.

A large part of the team’s early success is due to the team’s decision to snap up coach Taki Minowa from Japan.

Despite leading a young group, Minowa, who has been adjusting to life as a PVL coach, has seemingly earned the respect of his Chameleons. But how exactly has training been under the Japanese coach?

Speaking to Noli Eala in One PH's Power and Play on Saturday, Nxled team captain Dani Ravena shared the team's experience so far with Minowa.

“We've only been under coach Taka for less than a month, so there are still a lot of things to work on and he always mentions na it's a process,” said Ravena. “We're just really patient and 'yun lang iniisip namin na everything that we're working on is really may results din 'yan onwards.”

Outside hitter Lycha Ebon, who delivered a solid outing in Nxled's win versus the Gerflor Defenders, also chimed in on what makes Minowa a special coach.

“Si coach [Taka] kasi napaka-specific niya. 'Yung mga small details kailangan ma-correct siya kasi para 'pag sa game, madali nalang siyang mai-apply,” said Ebon.

It’s still early in the PVL Second All-Filipino Conference, but it seems like Nxled is going in the right direction thanks to Coach Taka.

The Chameleons will look to continue their early success in the PVL as they face the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers on Tuesday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City.

It will be aired on One Sports, One Sports+, and the Pilipinas Live app.
