As touted before the start of the PVL Second All-Filipino Conference, the league will be playing a handful of out-of-town games to bring the excitement closer to fans.
This Saturday, Candon, Ilocos Sur will host a thrilling double-header between the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers versus the Galeries Tower Highrisers and the Nxled Chameleons versus the Petro Gazz Angels.
The city's new 6,000-seater arena will be the venue of the third stop of the PVL on Tour, which already visited Batangas and Antipolo.
Candon Mayor Eric Singson said the city is honored to welcome the PVL and its players.
"Our endeavor to host these games aligns with our vision for the Candon City Arena—to position prominently on the national sports map as a gracious host for significant sporting events, including PVL games and other national tournaments," said Singson in a media release.
He added that the partnership with the PVL is a step in the continued development of Candon.
"By joining hands with us, you not only support a momentous sporting event but also contribute to the growth and recognition of our beloved city," said Singson.
The four teams, which arrived in batches on Thursday, were already able to train in the modern venue.
F2 Logistics, which has been getting a huge lift from Ivy Lacsina, is coming off a win against Nxled, while Galeries, led by the comebacking Dimdim Pacres, is still looking for its maiden win in the PVL.
Meanwhile, Petro Gazz, featuring Djanel Cheng, will ride on its back-to-back sweep victories in battling the Jho Maraguinot and the young Chameleons.
The Cargo Movers and the Highrisers take the floor at 4 p.m., while the Angels and the Chameleons collide at 6 p.m.
