With a Final Four spot already in the bag, the NU Bulldogs now turn their attention to claiming the second and last twice-to-beat advantage.

The four-time defending champions seek to formally pocket the much-coveted playoff incentive in a UAAP Season 87 men’s volleyball showdown against the Ateneo Blue Eagles on Sunday, April 13, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Game time is at 9:00 a.m.

NU became the second team to punch a playoff ticket after the no. 1 FEU Tamaraws (11-1) in a quick straight-set mauling of the UE Red Warriors last time out.

It marked the fourth consecutive victory for the Bulldogs, who boosted their record to 10-2 and qualified for the Final Four for the 10th successive season.

Buds Buddin fired 15 points, while Obed Mukaba became a one-man wall for NU with a game-high seven blocks on top of adding 14 markers.

“Na-dominate namin yung laro at na-dictate namin yung tempo. Naging factor talaga yung blockings namin today. We’ll continue lang yung ginagawa namin everyday heading into the Final Four,” Bulldogs head coach Dante Alinsunurin bared to reportes afterwards.

Leo Ordiales and Leo Aringo combined for 20 points as the Bulldogs recorded their 23rd straight victory over UE dating back to the second round of Season 73 in 2011.
