Lacsina finished with a team-high 27 points.
Ivy Lacsina wasn’t alone in racking up the points for the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers on Tuesday at the Philsports Arena. Matching her output of 27 markers was teammate Jolina dela Cruz as F2 outlasted the Farm Fresh Foxies in five grueling sets. That being said, Lacsina’s seven-point outburst in the final frame ended up as the knockout blow that put away the win-hungry Foxies during the continuation of the PVL Second All-Filipino Conference.
The win placed the Cargo Movers at seventh in the standings with a 3-2 slate. Farm Fresh on the other hand, remained winless.
After the thrilling contest, the prolific outside hitter bared the thought process behind her impressive performance and the refuse-to-lose attitude she exhibited.
“’Yung pinaghuhugutan ko talaga is ‘yung mga games na parang nawala ako,” Lacsina said in the postgame presser.
Thinking of herself as F2’s barometer of sorts, the former NU Lady Bulldog stepped up even more in the decider, displaying great composure and aggressiveness, connecting with dela Cruz whenever the moment called for it.
“’Nung sa fifth set na, lagi kaming nag-eye contact ni Jolina kasi sabi naming kailangan naming panghawakan ‘yung isa’t-isa dito,” said Lacsina.
Also pushing the 24-year-old spiker to come up clutch during crunch time was the trust given to her by F2 headmaster Regine Diego.
“Alam naman natin na ‘yung fifth set is hanggang 15 lang so sabi ko, wala namang mawawala sa’kin kung ibibigay ko lahat,” Lacsina explained.
“Tapos si Coach Reg, nasa tabi ko, sabi niya, ilaban ko lang nang ilaban,” she continued.
Lacsina and the rest of the Cargo Movers will look to stay in the win column this Thursday as they take on the Gerflor Defenders.
