On a roll like a butter knife!
Their long-awaited shot at a podium finish is within arm’s reach.
On Tuesday, the Choco Mucho Flying Titans took a step closer to a semifinals berth in the PVL Second All-Filipino Conference with an impressive four-set victory over the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.
It was Sisi Rondina who once again led the ladies in purple’s attack, exploding for 21 points, including the dump-off that finished off the Cargo Movers and their semis aspirations, 19-25, 25-8, 25-17, 25-19.
Choco Mucho extended their winning streak to seven games for a blistering 7-1 record, while F2 Logistics fell to a 4-5 slate.
During the postgame presser, Isa Molde reflected on Choco Mucho’s outstanding performance.
“Siguro napatunayan namin na nakukuha na namin ‘yung sistema na pinapagawa ni coach (Dante Alinsunurin),” said the outside hitter, who scored 13 points for the Flying Titans.
Echoing Molde’s statement was Caitlyn Viray, who also stepped up.
“Nakikita na ‘yung sistema and ang ganda ng ginagalaw ng team. Siguro magfo-focus pa kami para mas maging consistent,” Viray said, who teamed up with Maddie Madayag to combine for 13 points.
Alinsunurin started coaching Choco Mucho last January after his tour of duty with the Philippine men’s national volleyball team. Now, everything seems to be falling into place for the Flying Titans.
But there’s no room for complacency for the squad despite the imminent semifinals appearance, according to Viray.
“Nandoon ‘yung eagerness. Siyempre mas doble ‘yung trabaho namin para makarating kami doon,” the 25-year-old opposite hitter stressed.
