Like DJ Khaled, all the Creamline Cool Smashers do is win.
After stopping the Chery Tiggo Crossovers’ surge on Tuesday at the Philsports Arena, 25-22, 24-26, 25-20, 25-16, the ladies in pink notched their ninth victory in as many games. Still undefeated, they remain rulers of the PVL Second All-Filipino Conference.
Coming into the game, the Cool Smashers had already secured a semifinals slot. But that didn’t stop them from going all out against Eya Laure and the rest of Chery Tiggo.
Birthday girl Jema Galanza led the way for Creamline with 16 points, including 13 attacks.
They now have a clear shot at sweeping the elimination round, with their final two opponents being the already-ousted Akari Chargers and the winless Galeries Tower Highrisers.
For Creamline coach Sherwin Meneses, approaching those games with the same fire they’ve been displaying all conference long will be key as they try to secure the number one spot unscathed.
“Kino-consider namin talagang magandang laban pa rin kasi siyempre, ‘yung mga remaining games namin, nagpapraktis pa rin ‘yan,” Meneses said after Creamline’s win over Chery Tiggo.
The veteran tactician then disclosed what he plans on doing for his squad’s next outing.
“Hopefully, maipasok namin lahat ng players namin. Bukas papraktisin namin ‘yun for Akari,” said Meneses.
