These, according to star spiker Michelle Gumabao, were the big keys that drove the Creamline Cool Smashers’ historic 15-0 sweep on Saturday to win the PVL Second All-Filipino Conference title at the expense of the very game Choco Mucho Flying Titans..
It’s also what every member of the team said each game the Cool Smashers won en route to their unbeaten conquest in this tournament.
“Together we were blessed with 7 championships in 11 seasons and this one finished undefeated 15-0,” she said in an Instagram post days after Creamline notched another title.
“This season was all about trust and teamwork. Trusting the system, our coaches, each other and trusting God when things seemed to be out of control,” added Gumabao, who also bagged her third Best Opposite Spiker award in this tournament.
After seven championships with the team, Gumabao couldn’t help but feel proud of everything they went through and achieved together.
This season was not as easy as the figures implied, though.
“It was a hard and well-fought season and all throughout we stood strong as one team and one family,” she said.
There’s more to their experience than meets the eye. But by staying together and trusting the system, the Cool Smashers emerged triumphant anew.
And, at the way things are going, that trust and that teamwork, alongside what is arguably a perfect system, might very well propel the franchise to even more championships.
