Coming off a straight-set rout of the PLDT High Speed Hitters a week ago, the Petro Gazz Angels sustained their winning form and delivered another sweep on Saturday.

Brooke Van Sickle shone anew as the Angels took down the Akari Chargers, carving out a hard-earned 25-21, 25-23, 25-17, in the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference at the FilOil EcoOil Arena Saturday.

Van Sickle hammered down a game-high 24 points built on 18 attacks, four aces and two blocks, to go along with seven digs, to elevate Petro Gazz to 3-1 for a share of fourth place with PLDT.

Jonah Sabete provided ample support with 12 markers, while Aiza Maizo-Pontillas and Rem Palma pitched in nine and six points, respectively.

Djanel Cheng, Ivy Perez, and Chie Saet shared the playmaking duties, allowing the Angels to edge out the Chargers in attacks, 48-36.

KC Galdones only managed two points, but her contributions proved instrumental down the stretch.

Knotted at 11 in the decisive third, Petro Gazz went on an 12-6 spurt capped by a Galdones hit.

Fifi Sharma tried to resuscitate Akari's comeback hopes in the ensuing play, but Galdones restored order with a quick attack to put her side at match point.

Eli Soyud, who paced the losing side with 13 points, then misfired, sending the Chargers reeling to its third defeat in four matches.

Grethcel Soltones had a quiet outing with seven markers, while Fifi Sharma and Janine Marciano finished with five apiece.

Petro Gazz seeks to sustain momentum when it collides with Farm Fresh on March 14, Thursday, at the PhilSports Arena.

Akari, on the other hand, tries to rediscover its winning ways when it takes on Nxled on March 16, Saturday, at the Santa Rosa Sports Complex.
