The Choco Mucho Flying Titans zeroed in on a semifinals berth in the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference after taking down the also-ran Strong Group Athletics in straight sets, 25-17, 25-15, 25-15, at the PhilSports Arena Saturday.
The Flying Titans stretched their win streak to four and strengthened their grip of the top spot with an 8-1 record for 24 points, moving a win away from punching a ticket to the next round.
Royse Tubino delivered her best performance in a Choco Mucho jersey with 17 points built on 15 attacks and two blocks. She stepped up in lieu of Kat Tolentino, who has been recovering from an auditory condition.
Reigning MVP Sisi Rondina continued to carry the offensive cudgels with 17 markers on 14 spikes, two blocks, and an ace, while Isa Molde contributed eight points.
Deanna Wong came off the bench in the second set once again, finishing the game with nine excellent sets
The Flying Titans overwhelmed the Athletics on all cylinders, putting up a 48-29 spiking differential, a 11-2 block disparity, and a 4-1 ace gap.
SGA, meanwhile, continued to trudge at the cellar with a 0-9 card.
Dolly Verzosa paced the losing side with 12 points, nine receptions, and seven digs.
With the win, Choco Mucho now set its sights on defending champion Creamline in a rematch of the Second All-Filipino Conference Finals on April 18, Thursday,
SGA, on the other hand, continues its pursuit of a breakthrough when it takes on also-ran Farm Fresh on the same day.
Both matches will be held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
