An Angel was crowned on Mother's Day Sunday.

Brooke Van Sickle earned her first Most Valuable Player award in the Premier Volleyball League, emerging as the top star in the 2024 All-Filipino Conference.

The Filipina-American outside hitter clinched the coveted trophy after making her all-around presence felt for the Petro Gazz Angels, who finished in third place.

Van Sickle emerged as the leading scorer in the season-opening conference with 229 points spread across 188 attacks, 22 blocks, and 19 aces.

She was also third-most efficient spiker in the league with a 37.68-percent success rate, the fourth-best blocker with a 0.55 average per set, and the top server with 0.48 per set.

Van Sickle’s impact extended on the defensive end, ranking fifth in receptions with a 3.83 efficiency rate and seventh in digs with a 3.25 efficiency rate.

Her Petro Gazz teammate, Aiza Maizo-Pontillas, emerged as the Best Opposite Spiker, while Kyle Negrito of Creamline copped the Best Setter award for the first time in her pro career.

Choco Mucho’s Sisi Rondina and Creamline’s Jema Galanza captured the Best Outside Spikers recognition, while Cool Smasher Pangs Panaga and Flying Titan Maddie Madayag earned the Best Middle Blockers awards.

Rounding out the All-PVL team is Thang Ponce of Choco Mucho, who bagged the Best Libero.

Since coming over to the Philippines this year, Brooke has been collecting hardware, also winning MVP in the PNVF Champions League where she guided the Angels to the title.
