The Chery Tiggo Crossovers continued their dominant form in the 2024 PVL Reinforced Conference after overpowering the Nxled Chameleons in straight sets, 25-16, 25-20, 25-23, at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City on Saturday, July 20.

After cruising past the Farm Fresh Foxies on opening day, the Crossovers made quick work this time of the Chameleons, with import Khat Bell leading the way once more with 21 points from 19 attacks and two service aces.

Galang was hailed the Player of the Game as she finished with 11 points on seven attack and four blocks to go along 11 excellent digs.

"The girls played amazing. Every time someone came in, for somebody else, they did what they were supposed to do. Our player of the game [Ara Galang] was amazing tonight. Really helped to have her have my back tonight so it was a great effort all-around," Bell said during the post-game press conference.

"Siyempre happy ako na naka-contribute ako sa team para manalo. 'Yun naman din 'yung goal ko, so super happy," Galang added.

In the third set, Nxled got off to a strong start behind Lycha Ebon and import Meeghan Hart as they built a three-point lead at 7-4, which was quickly erased by Chery Tiggo.

The Chameleons tried to hold on to their slim lead until Bell and Ara Galang put an end to the seesaw battle.

Down by two at 18-20, Bell and Galang connected on back-to-back hits to tie the game before Trisha Genesis committed an attack error to give the lead to Chery Tiggo.

Jho Maraguinot managed to tie the game twice for Nxled as her squad even took the lead at 23-22 after Galang’s crosscourt attack sailed wide.

Shaya Adorador tied the game up at 23-all as Genesis committed a costly error to put Chery Tiggo at match point. Right after, the Crossovers managed to cover the Chameleons’ attack as Bell delivered the winning point from an off-the-block attack.

No Nxled player finished in double-digit scoring with Hart and Ebon having just nine and eight markers respectively in the loss.

Up next for Chery Tiggo will be the Galeries Tower Highrisers on Thursday, July 25 at 5:00 p.m.
