From going against each other a few years back, MJ Perez and Ces Molina are now enjoying their time as teammates with the Cignal HD Spikers in the 2024 PVL Reinforced Conference.
From being opponents a few years back to being teammates now, MJ Perez and Ces Molina are relishing their time on the court as part of the the Cignal HD Spikers in the 2024 PVL Reinforced Conference.
The tandem of Perez and Molina powered the HD Spikers to a 2-0 start after defeating the ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles in four sets, 25-18, 29-27, 21-25, 25-22, at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City on Tuesday, July 23.
Perez finished with a game-high 30 points, while Molina added 16 markers in the win.
After being on opposite sides of the court in the now-defunct Philippine Super Liga, Molina expressed her excitement about having the Venezuelan import by her side this time around.
“Siyempre sobrang happy kasi hindi ko kailangan i-receive ‘yung mga palo niya, so very inspiring and motivating para sa team,” Molina said during the post-game press conference.
“Malaking bagay na si MJ ang nakuha naming import para makuha na rin namin ‘yung goal namin this conference. We’re looking forward din na makapag-perform ‘yung team [kasi] mataas na level ‘yung volleyball dahil kay MJ,” she added.
On the other hand, Perez has been equally positive about teaming up with Molina and her new environment in Cignal.
“She’s [Ces Molina] a really hardworking person. She’s the more experienced girl on the team, so everybody follows her. It’s nice to be around her, and she’s very hardworking,” Perez remarked.
With two games in her belt for the HD Spikers, Perez said she has been fitting well with her new squad.
“When I came back to the Philippines, I feel already at home, so it was easy to interact with the team and all my teammates. They’re amazing so I feel great, I feel welcome in the team, so it was a fast adaptation,” said Perez.

As the conference progresses, the collaboration between Perez and Molina promises to be a game-changer for Cignal as they look to drive their team towards their championship aspirations.
