It’s been a while since PVL fans last saw Jolina Dela Cruz on the court.

The 25-year-old spiker has been sidelined since last November 2023 due to a partial anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in her right knee.

This happened on a dig attempt when she was still part of the now-disbanded F2 Logistics Cargo Movers.

Despite the injury, Dela Cruz was quickly snapped up by the Farm Fresh Foxies for the ongoing 2024 PVL season.

With an ACL injury usually taking nine months to fully recover, Dela Cruz said she continues to improve day-by-day.

“As of now, seven months na siya so ayun getting better na din and nag-focus pa rin sa rehab, sa strengthening, and tinatrust ko lang din kung ano 'yung process,” Dela Cruz told One Sports.

Ahead of Farm Fresh’s match against the Akari Chargers last August 20, the former De La Salle University star was spotted chatting with Cignal HD Spikers import MJ Perez.

While both played for F2 Logistics, Dela Cruz and Perez didn’t get to be teammates but did share some time training together.

“Kanina kasi nag-usap lang kami about dun sa sabi niya she [MJ] had an injury dati, ACL din, pero eight months lang 'yung kanya pero sabi ko na iba na 'yung recovery ng ACL ngayon,” said Dela Cruz. “Like 10 months, 1 year, ganun, so nag-usap din kami kung parang 'yung ACL niya paano nangyari like sa talon tapos sinabi ko sakin like sa lateral.”

“Nag-share kami ng mga infos and tinanong ko rin siya na parang paano niya na-overcome 'yung fear niya,” she added.

With still a few more months of recovery and training to get back into game shape, Dela Cruz made a vow to her supporters, who eagerly await her return.

“I promise na babalik ako soon and pagtiya-tiyagaan ko 'yung rehab and 'yung strengthening. Wait lang, I promise babalik ako,” Dela Cruz emphasized.
