It’s an awesome start for the Cignal HD Spikers.

Cignal wasted no time announcing their arrival in the 2024 PVL Invitational Conference with a blistering 25-16, 25-10, 25-18 onslaught against the Farm Fresh Foxies on Friday, September 6 at the Sta. Rosa Sports City Complex.

Gel Cayuna solidified her case as the reigning Reinforced Conference Best Setter after putting up six points, built on three attacks, two aces, and one block and 13 excellent sets in a dazzling display of playmaking for the five-time PVL bronze winners.

Reigning Reinforced Conference Best Foreign Player MJ Perez took up the scoring cudgels with a team-high 16 points as Molina and Jackie Acuna each tallied 11 points apiece.

Coming off another podium finish this time in the Reinforced Conference, Cignal raced to a fast start and held a commanding 2-0 set lead.

Farm Fresh made things interesting in the early going of the third set, taking a 10-8 lead behind a 5-0 run sparked by super subs Alyssa Bertolano and Caitlin Viray.

The HD Spikers responded with a 8-2 counter capped off by Cayuna’s timely ace to make it 16-12.

From the point, Cignal remained in control as team captain Ces Molina sealed Cignal's win with a powerful hit in the left flank.

Meanwhile, Farm Fresh dropped their second straight game after falling to the defending champion Kurashiki Ablaze yesterday, September 5.

Asaka Tamaru scored nine points in a losing effort as no Farm Fresh playing reached double-digits.

The Foxies continue their search for a first win on Monday, September 9 against the also winless EST Cola.

But Cignal will get their first crack against the foreign guest squad, battling EST Cola on on Sunday, September 8 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
