The Creamline Cool Smashers continue to make its mark in Philippine volleyball—this time outside the taraflex.

In a groundbreaking initiative, the Department of Education (DepEd) has partnered with Rebisco and the Cool Smashers to launch a grassroots volleyball program, designed to instill values and promote wellness among the youth through the sport.

During a recent ceremony, DepEd Secretary Sonny Angara highlighted the importance of the REBISCOVER Learning partnership. This initiative also includes the RebisCONGRESS, a series of training programs and volleyball clinics tailored for school coaches and athletes.

Angara led a ceremonial volleyball toss alongside Creamline’s reigning MVP Michele Gumabao, Tots Carlos, and Finals MVP Kyle Negrito, marking the official signing of the Memorandum of Agreement with Rebisco.

“Ganyan po ang Pinoy, pagdating sa edukasyon, pagdating sa sports, bayanihan, tulong tulong,” Angara remarked.

Key figures from the Rebisco Group, including President Geronimo R. Kamus and Jonathan Ng, along with other executives, were present to witness the signing.

Creamline will play a pivotal role in this initiative by providing volleyball kits, tutorial videos, and learning camps to schools nationwide.

The Cool Smashers are coming off their historic grand slam quest in the PVL after taking home the 2024 Invitational Conference title.

Angara expressed gratitude to Rebisco for its support in restoring vital service facilities, such as sports clinics and canteens.

“We will have the next Michele, Tots, and Kylie. Mga bata pa lang, mahahasa na ang kanilang galing,” said Angara.

By nurturing young talents early, Creamline, DepEd, and Rebisco are aiming to pave the way for the next generation of athletes, hoping to instill a sense of discipline, teamwork, and resilience beyond the court.
