After missing out on the 2024 PVL Reinforced Conference, Julia Coronel is set to make her anticipated debut for the Galeries Tower Highrisers in the 2024-2025 All-Filipino Conference.
After missing the 2024 PVL Reinforced Conference due to her commitments with Alas Pilipinas, Julia Coronel is ready to make her highly anticipated debut for the Galeries Tower Highrisers in the upcoming Premier Volleyball League season.
The talented setter is eager to make an impact and help steer her team to success, after a tough conference in which the Highrisers finished without a win.
Reflecting on the upcoming All-Filipino Conference, Coronel shared her optimism for the Highrisers' potential.
“Siguro ang ine-expect ko this upcoming conference dahil nga maraming games sana naipanalo na ng team namin last conference. So ako, nakikita ko na nandun na ‘yung team namin. I see our potential as a team,” Coronel told One Sports.
“From our previous performance, parang we’re slowly building on that like every day nagtatrabaho lang talaga kami as in push talaga because we really want to prove something this conference,” she added.

Coronel's debut brings some excitement to a hungry Galeries Tower squad, given her playmaking skills and leadership on the court.
The third overall pick in the 2024 PVL Draft is well aware of the pressures of her role, but she’s embracing them fully.
“For me, nandun naman talaga ‘yung pressure to perform. But again, as everyone has been saying, ‘pressure is a privilege.' And so since it’s been put on me, parang I just accept it wholeheartedly and parang motivation ko ‘yun to do my best,” said Coronel.
As she joined the team, Coronel admitted that she’s still working on building chemistry with her spikers but noted some progress in that area.
“We’re still trying to form our connection pero nakukuha rin namin through our training,” said Coronel. “What I really appreciate about them is it’s easy for me to approach them and I’m also trying to keep communication as open as possible with them para mas madali kami makapag-adjust.”
As Coronel prepares for her PVL debut, all eyes will be on her to see how she helps elevate the Highrisers to a competitive team this season.
