PLDT's Savi Davison feels "a little bit more comfortable" with her movement two games into the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference.
Savi Davison could not be stopped in PLDT's straight-set victory over Galeries Tower, 27-25, 25-22, 25-23, in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference at the Ynares Center Antipolo on Tuesday, Nov. 19.
The Fil-Canadian spiker exploded for 28 points, five of which she fired in the High Speed Hitters’ 10-2 finishing kick in the third set to snatch the victory.
Coming from a knee injury which forced her to miss the recent Reinforced Conference, Davison is slowly finding her groove once more for the title-hungry PLDT.

In her first game back a week ago, Davison finished with a team-high 19 points, along with nine excellent receptions, in the High Speed Hitters’ four-set win over Nxled.
“I think in my second game, I was a little bit more comfortable with how I moved around. I felt that I almost regained the trust of my teammates after coming back after missing the last conference,” Davison told reporters after the match.
“That felt really good, and I just feel better all around. I’m kind of just getting back to the groove of things. I honestly had no idea that I had that many points, but I’m just glad how it all transpired,” she added.

The 25-year-old outside hitter, however, admitted that while she’s recovered fully from the injury, it’s the mental effect of it that she is still working on.
“Coming back from an injury, I can’t really pretend like it didn’t happen. You got to almost apply the things that you learned while sitting out to coming in back,” Davison explained.
“I think, overall, just my mentality of things is at a good 80 percent. I’m just glad that it’s not up and down and all around and I’m freaking out and all of that stuff, especially with the crowd here in the PVL,” she added.

Luckily for Davison, PLDT is off to a strong start in the new season with a 2-0 record.
“I’m just glad that everything’s going the way that I’d like it to,” Davison said.
Davison and the rest of the High Speed Hitters will have a week off before duking it out with Capital1 next Tuesday, Nov. 26, at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
