The ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles continued their winning ways after powering past the Galeries Tower Highrisers in straight sets during the 2024-24 PVL All-Filipino Conference.
The ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles grabbed back-to-back wins in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference after sweeping the Galeries Tower Highrisers, 25-22, 25-16, 25-19, at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig on Thursday, November 28.
Fresh off the franchise’s first-ever win, the Thunderbelles dominated throughout the match to keep the Highrisers winless after four games.
This is ZUS Coffee’s first winning streak and first straight-set victory since joining the league earlier in the year.
In the third set, the Thunderbelles had another strong start behind Chai Troncoso and Thea Gagate for a 4-0 lead, which they would extend to as many as nine points at 21-12.
The Highrisers would make one last run in them to trim the lead to just four points at 17-21.
However, Troncoso, Chinnie Arroyo, and Cloanne Mondoñedo would close the game out to put ZUS Coffee at third in the standings (2-1), tied with Petro Gazz and Akari.
Arroyo was hailed the Player of the Game after scoring 14 points built on 11 attacks, one block, and two service aces.
Up next for ZUS Coffee will be Farm Fresh next Thursday, December 5 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao.
Meanwhile, Galeries Tower will seek its first win in Cebu on December 7 as they face Capital1.
