Renowned OPM artist Rico Blanco makes his way to the Smart Araneta Coliseum to watch the much-anticipated showdown between the Creamline Cool Smashers and the Choco Mucho Flying Titans in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference.
Truly a fan of Philippine volleyball, former Rivermaya vocalist turned soloist Rico Blanco attended the much-awaited match between the Creamline Cool Smashers and Choco Mucho Flying Titans, at the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
“It’s my first time catching this what I call PVL Clasico, PVL Clasico live. Because last time, nasa TV lang tayo,” shared the OPM icon, expressing his excitement about finally experiencing the live PVL action.
The OPM icon proudly noted the immense growth of the Premier Volleyball League, reflecting on his earlier experiences watching games.
“I’m just so happy the sport has grown so massively. From the time I used to watch in San Juan, to what it is now, it’s incredible,” the Filipino singer-songwriter commented.
So, who does Rico support in the PVL?
“Secret,” he jokingly replied.
“No, I’m just enjoying the games. Even last conference, nahihirapan akong pumili ng team. ‘Cause I’ve known a lot of these players from their school backgrounds. So parang nahihirapan akong … may gusto ako sa team na ‘yon, may gusto ako sa team na ‘yon,” he explained with a smile.
At the #RivermayaTheReunion concert last February, former Ateneo Lady Eagles stars Gretchen Ho, Dzi Gervacio, Charo Soriano, Ana Gopico, and Jem Ferrer also had their own reunion, celebrating the full-circle moment where they returned the favor to Blanco by attending his band's reunion concert.
