The Petro Gazz Angels continued their winning ways after staving off the ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles in four sets, 25-20, 24-26, 28-26, 25-22, in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig on Tuesday, Feb. 4.

The Angels secured their sixth straight win for a 7-1 record for 2nd in the standings, just behind the unbeaten Creamline Cool Smashers. Meanwhile, the Thunderbelles dropped to a 4-5 record for the 8th spot.

Tied at 16-all in the fourth frame, Petro Gazz distanced itself by as many as four points, capitalizing on the costly errors by ZUS Coffee.

Kate Santiago and Jovelyn Gonzaga tried to keep the Thunderbelles afloat, but the tandem of Myla Pablo and Brooke Van Sickle proved to be too much as two scored the Angels' last four points to seal the victory.

Van Sickle had another MVP-type outing with 27 points built on 25 attacks and two service aces.

The Angels will go for seven in a row against the Capital1 Solar Spikers next Tuesday, Feb. 11, still at the PhilSports Arena.
