How 2024 shaped Creamline superstar Alyssa Valdez on and off the court

With a new year comes a fresh start for Creamline Cool Smasher superstar Alyssa Valdez.

Entering 2025, Valdez reflected on a tough yet fulfilling past 12 months through a touching Instagram reel, giving her fans a glimpse of the moments and people that shaped her year.

The reel, accompanied by a heartfelt caption, featured photos and videos of Valdez with her friends, family, and teammates, capturing the joy and inspiration they brought into her life.

The montage also highlighted her travels, which she described as transformative, allowing her to discover new perspectives and deepen her understanding of what truly matters.

"2024 has been all about the people who brought joy, support, and inspiration. The travels that helped me discover new perspectives, the little things that truly allowed me to get to know myself and what matters most. It’s been a year of connection, growth, and unforgettable memories,” Valdez’s message said in her reel.

The Cool Smashers captain has long been admired not just for her skills on the court but also for her authenticity and gratitude.

The reel also showcased Valdez's journey of growth—both as an athlete and as a person—underscoring the importance of connection and self-discovery.

Whether it was bonding with her teammates during pivotal games or taking quiet moments for herself, 2024 was undoubtedly a year of profound impact for Valdez.

The 31-year-old spiker came into the year with new-found, having just just recovered from a previous knee injury.

In the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference, Valdez led the way for Creamline as they defend its title against its sister team, the Choco Mucho Flying Titans.

However, soon after, the Phenom would go on to miss the Reinforced and Invitational Conferences, which eventually led the the Cool Smashers’ historic grand slam run.

Valdez has since returned to the court for the 2024-2025 All-Filipino Conference, playing in all of Creamline’s first four games for the new season.

Just before the Christmas break, the Cool Smashers’ five-set win over the ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles was also Valdez’s best game in her return after putting up 17 points.

As she looks forward to 2025, Valdez’s reel serves as a reminder to celebrate not just victories but also the relationships and experiences that shape us along the way.
