PLDT is starting to hit its stride in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference, securing its second straight win with a commanding sweep of Farm Fresh, 25-20, 25-17, 25-19, on Tuesday, Feb. 4 at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.

Veteran middle blocker Mika Reyes contributed 10 points, including nine attacks, to help the High Speed Hitters maintain control throughout the match and improve to third in the standings with a 5-3 record.

While pleased with the victory, Reyes highlighted the importance of staying prepared and adaptable, especially with tougher challenges ahead.

"Thankful lang din ako sa opportunity. And sabi naman ng coaching staff na kahit sino man gamitin sa line-up, makaka-perform at perform pa rin naman," Reyes said during the post-game press conference.

As PLDT moves forward in the conference, the team is gradually regaining its full roster, with Kianna Dy and Kim Fajardo back from their knee injuries.

However, Reyes believes the journey is far from over, especially with championship expectations set for the talented High Speed Hitters.

"We're very happy, of course. Pero siyempre, hindi pa rin naman talaga tapos 'tong laban na 'to. Marami pang magiging games. And kailangan lang na maging ready talaga na kahit sino hugutin, makakatulong sa loob,” said Reyes.

With a matchup against defending Grand Slam champions Creamline approaching, Reyes stressed the need to maintain focus and avoid complacency.

"Siguro I can say na steady siya, pero at the same time, dapat hindi kami maging complacent," she explained.

"Especially the next game, mas buo talaga sila and champion team, so hindi kami puwedeng maging complacent. So I think, dagdag motivation 'to, pero marami pa kaming kailangan ayusin," Reyes added.

The High Speed Hitters will face the unbeaten Cool Smashers on Feb. 15 at the Ynares Center Antipolo.
