Akari's Ivy Lacsina and Choco Mucho's Deanna Wong had their turns in staring down one another during the Flying Titans' four-set win over the Chargers in the PVL All-Filipino Conference.
Ivy Lacsina and Deanna Wong faced each other once more during Akari and Choco Mucho’s match in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference.
This time, it was Wong and the Flying Titans that got the better of Lacsina and the Chargers in four sets, 25-21, 19-25, 25-23, 25-15, at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig on Saturday, February 8.
During the match, Lacsina and Wong found themselves in several on-court banter, whether it was the Choco Mucho setter staring down at the Akari spiker or the other way around.
When asked about those moments, the 25-year-old star outside hitter for Akari didn’t think too much about it.
“Wala like for me, pag nasa court kami, hindi namin inisiip anong meron samin so laro lang talaga,” Lacsina told reporters.
“Part of the game talaga ‘yun. Para lang siguro siyempre ma-boost ‘yung isa’t isa,” she added.

Lacsina had a strong outing despite the loss as she put up 18 points on 13 attacks, three blocks, and two service aces for the Chargers.
However, errors hounded the youthful Akari squad, committing 37 as compared to just 19 from Choco Mucho.
“Siguro for me, nagkulang siguro ‘yung team namin or kinapos sa maturity lalo na sa endgame. And siyempre, ‘yung Choco Mucho is beterano team and matagal na silang magkakasama,” Lacsina explained.
Despite the loss, the Chargers remain within the top-6 with a 5-5 record, tied with the idle Chery Tiggo Crossovers.
The Flying Titans, on the other hand, jumped to fifth with a 6-3 mark, also tied with the PLDT High Speed Hitters and the Cignal HD Spikers.
Lacsina and the rest of the Akari squad will look to bounce back against the Cignal HD Spikers on February 18.
