Myla Pablo and the Petro Gazz Angels are no strangers to reaching the PVL Finals, but their upcoming appearance with Brooke Van Sickle is special for the team.
For the past year, Petro Gazz has leaned on its superstar Brooke Van Sickle.
And finally, after two conferences, the Angels are making their way to the Finals after sweeping the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference semifinals.
Following their clean straight-sets victory over Akari, 25-22, 25-20, 25-18, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao on Thursday, April 3, veteran spiker Myla Pablo made sure to dedicate their Finals entry to Van Sickle.
“Siyempre sobrang happy na nakabalik na kami sa Finals. Actually, for Brooke talaga ito eh kasi you can see naman the two conferences talaga is grabe ‘yung ginawa niya,” Pablo said during the post-game press conference.
“Sabi nga namin nung team building, para kay Brooke itong Finals na ito. Nagtulong-tulong kami para makuha ‘yung Finals na ito,” she added.
Pablo delivered a game-high 16 points built on 11 attacks, four blocks, and one service ace, complementing Van Sickle’s 15-point outing.

The Angels will now head to their sixth Finals appearance and first since the 2023 PVL First All-Filipino Conference.
For the Fil-Hawaiian spiker, reaching the Finals has been something she’s dreamt of since joining the team.
“It feels very surreal. It's been a very long conference and there have been a lot of ups and downs, and to be where we are right now is amazing,” Van Sickle bared. “I wouldn't want to do it with any other team and I'm so glad that my teammates, they're there for me at all times and they're just a group of wonderful girls.”
“I'm really excited to share this experience with them, just going to the finals and everything. I'm ecstatic. This is awesome.”

Petro Gazz will now await their opponent in the Finals which could either be the Creamline Cool Smashers or Choco Mucho Flying Titans.
