The Akari Chargers make it two in a row against the Choco Mucho Flying Titans after their five-set comeback in Game 1 of the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference bronze medal series.
The Akari Chargers continue to have the Choco Flying Titans’ number after completing a reverse sweep, 24-26, 21-25, 25-15, 25-18, 15-11, in Game 1 of the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference bronze medal series at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao on Tuesday, April 8.
Despite going down two sets, the Chargers managed to find their groove just in time to frustrate the undermanned Flying Titans, who have lost four straight games since the semifinals.
With momentum on their side, Akari gave themselves some much-needed cushion in the fifth set at 9-7 after back-to-back hits by Ivy Lacsina and Eli Soyud.
From there, the Chargers continued to lean on Soyud, capitalizing on the Flying Titans’ errors to reach match point, 14-10.
Sisi Rondina would pull one back for Choco Mucho but Grethcel Soltones’ smart tip sealed the win for Akari.
Libero Justine Jazareno was hailed the Player of the Game after her stellar floor defense with 29 excellent digs on 60% digging efficiency.
Game 2 is set for Thursday, April 10, still at the Big Dome.
