It's shaping up to be a competitive season for the Growling Tigers!
University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers added a high school standout into their fold.
Meet SJ Moore.
The Arellano University Braves ace, ranked 15th in the 2023 Smart-NBTC National Finals, has committed to UST.
The 6-foot-2 high-flyer made waves during the conclave among the best high school players and bagged the Most Outstanding Player honors after leading Team Hustle to a 108-91 win over Team Heart in the NBTC All-Star Game.
"Alam natin yung kalibre ni SJ at nakikita natin siya na future ng UST. Masayang masaya tayo na pinili niyang sumama sa atin dito," said coach Pido Jarencio.
In UST, the 20-year-old feels right at home.
"Sa UST ko nakita na bagay talaga ako. Nakikita kong mas magagamit ako dito at mas gagaling ako kaya excited ako maging part dito sa UST," said Moore, who averaged 19.0 points, 8.6 rebounds, 1.4 steals, 1.3 assists, and 1.3 blocks for the Braves in the NCAA last season.
With Jarencio back in España, the Growling Tigers are pulling all the stops to rebuild the team from the rubbles of a forgettable UAAP Season 85 where they ended up with a lone victory.
